Psycho Games, Chapter 12: The Dead Awaken, part 2

Wow. What an eventful chapter. We were really unsure how it would turn out, but I think Jim did it very well.
I hope you like the cover. It’s my favorite so far. I hope you’ve noticed, but I always try to put a lot of symbolism in each cover. I think this one probably has the most so far. Not only does it hint at the contents of this chapter, but it also has a lot to do with stuff you won’t understand until later. It’s got some interesting foreshadowing.

* Evilly *: What a quaint Chapter. Dean was really creative with that cover; it’s probably the best one yet. Psycho Games is all about two things: Talking heads scenes and fight scenes. I can’t say this is the best talking heads scene (there’s quite a bit of competition for that title) but it does develop Victor (who has been lacking in development lately) and hints towards the future. I think I can say with confidence that this Chapter’s fight scene is most likely the best one so far. (Dean said it was the one that actually felt like a real one.) Fight scenes are hard to write, but this one has more emotional depth and conflict that others were lacking. I also feel it’s paced better, and feels really fast and powerful, largely due to the dynamic art. And of course, we finally get to see the mayor again. That’s pretty cool, I think.

Psycho Games Chapter 11: The Dead Awaken, part 1

Dialogue, lots of dialogue. It was painful to type a lot of it into the word bubbles. 10 pages seems like a lot when writing, especially when I take so long second-guessing things, but for the reader, it really isn’t all that much. I’ve been very busy with college, and haven’t had much time to write script, so I’ve just been squeaking by. Surprisingly, the hardest class isn’t chemistry, rather, it’s my fitness class. I can barely even survive jogging on a treadmill for 20 minutes, and I need to do that every day to pass. . . I’m going to be exhausted by the end of this quarter.

Hey. It’s good to see you. It’s been a little while. I wish we could talk longer, but I have to go to sleep.

My Favorite Game! (a work in progress)

Hey. We don’t have any comics to post, because we went on hiatus, like I said last week. This is what I wanted to show you though. As you may know, me and Jim have always had a passion for game design, in addition to comics.

These are some screenshots from a work in progress. It’s an RPG with a unique pong-based battle system, which you may be able to see from the screenshots. It’s actually been less than a month since I started, but it seems to progressing rather quickly.

If you want to see this finished, or are interested in supporting our work, please, consider our Patreon page. We also have a Facebook page too, if you’d like to follow us that way.

This is a project I’d like to finish, but there’s a lot of stuff I can’t do on my own. I’d appreciate your support, and feedback.

Will Victor and Zed be able to survive the terrifying power of their new adversaries? Find out next week, in the fabulous continuation.

We’re trying to work harder with the fight scenes. Sorry for the weird art. \[u.u]/

Dean (Artist)

I’m taking a drawing class, and getting back into drawing. Perhaps I will write and draw my own series for Robot Souls Comics. Right now, though, I just want to make Psycho Games as good as possible. It can be hard to work on, but it’ll certainly teach me a lot.

I must apologize. I know Victor has done many terrible things, but most of them can be forgiven . . . but Hawaiian Pizza? Everyone knows pineapples don’t belong on pizza. If he wanted fruit, he could have ordered a (less sinful) grape pizza.

By the way, of all the Pizzas listed (supreme, Hawaiian, grape, sardine, emu, kumquat, sausage) which is arguably the best?

Who doesn’t like moral dilemmas? Victor must win, but he also must do what he thinks is right. What is there to do in a situation like this?

I’m thinking of experimenting with the scripting. I’m using a panel-by-panel structure, but I’m worried it doesn’t let the artist (Dean) pace and frame things how he sees fit. As the writer, I know what I want out of the plot, but that doesn’t mean I know what’ll look good on the page. Thus, I might use more of a summary-type script in the next few chapters. Let’s see how it goes.

Hey. Please excuse my brother. Also, please excuse the badly colored cover, which I am entirely responsible for.

I’m expecting hate-mail. I actually don’t get a lot of mail, so hate-mail might actually be appreciated. Clara isn’t necessarily an amazing person, but even if a person is completely terrible, and they’re a girl, having them get punched in the face is generally very frowned upon. I’d like to say this was completely necessary, but I probably could have thought of a different way. I wonder if I’m a worse person than any of my characters. I hope this comic doesn’t turn into a psychological self-diagnoses of myself. Oh well. Now that the trio is formed, we can get into the meat of things in the next chapter.
