Hey! Thanks for waiting!
You can read the story thus far here:

This chapter is part two of “The Executioner” story arc. The executioner, of course, is in reference to the sniper, but he doesn’t actually appear in this chapter.
This whole scene with Victor and the Psycho was just supposed to be a side thing, but it ended up taking a lot more time and space than we thought it would.

If you’re reading this part, I’m assuming you already read the chapter, so we’re gonna talk about it.

This chapter is about suicide. Victor is driven to suicide, but the Psycho comes to stop him.

Suicidal tendencies are often linked to mental illness, like depression. To cure someone, we generally diagnose an illness, and prescribe them medications, like mood stabilizers.

Victor is certainly an example of a kid at risk for suicide, but it’s not because he’s mentally ill, although he might be.

Victor is at risk for suicide, not because of his lack of mental wholeness, but because of his lack of relationships. Victor is fatherless. He has very few friends. His closest friend, Leslie, turned on him. He is solitary. He spends a lot of his time indoors, playing video games. This lack of relationships is what puts him in danger, more than anything else.

Likewise, the “cure” for him isn’t medication (not that medication couldn’t help, though). The cure is relationship. The cure is when the Psycho comes to him, to talk to him. To counsel him. To show him he cares.

So that’s what this chapter is about.

Actually, forget all that. I changed my mind.
The moral of this chapter is the danger of mouse art addiction.

Hi. I was on a mission trip to Guatemala, which was a life-changing experience, but it has also left me very tired. What is the foundation of a person’s life? I realized that the only one that would ever work for me is Jesus. There’s nothing else.

Guatemala is an amazing place, and in some ways, I feel they are more sophisticated than the US. I have so many stories from the trip, but I can’t really fit any of them in here. You’d have to be there.

I’m a new person, now, but Psycho Games is still very important to me. Once I’m fully readjusted, I want to work harder than ever before on this comic, because it’s fun, and I love it. I’ve also learned to love a lot of other things, like Habenero sauce, and Neil Diamond’s “River Runs, New Grown Plums,” and traveling, and so many more things.

Well, have a nice day.

Psycho Games, Chapter 12: The Dead Awaken, part 2

Wow. What an eventful chapter. We were really unsure how it would turn out, but I think Jim did it very well.
I hope you like the cover. It’s my favorite so far. I hope you’ve noticed, but I always try to put a lot of symbolism in each cover. I think this one probably has the most so far. Not only does it hint at the contents of this chapter, but it also has a lot to do with stuff you won’t understand until later. It’s got some interesting foreshadowing.

* Evilly *: What a quaint Chapter. Dean was really creative with that cover; it’s probably the best one yet. Psycho Games is all about two things: Talking heads scenes and fight scenes. I can’t say this is the best talking heads scene (there’s quite a bit of competition for that title) but it does develop Victor (who has been lacking in development lately) and hints towards the future. I think I can say with confidence that this Chapter’s fight scene is most likely the best one so far. (Dean said it was the one that actually felt like a real one.) Fight scenes are hard to write, but this one has more emotional depth and conflict that others were lacking. I also feel it’s paced better, and feels really fast and powerful, largely due to the dynamic art. And of course, we finally get to see the mayor again. That’s pretty cool, I think.

Psycho Games Chapter 9: The Dead Sleep Better, part 1

Hey! Good to see you! Here, we’ve got the next chapter of Psycho Games. Hope you find it exciting.

For this chapter, I decided to create an alternate cover, just for fun. I colored it with crayons, as you can probably tell. Whaddya think?

This fight is being set up more like it’s part of a horror story. So far, each of the fights has been structured very differently. I like to think Psycho Games offers a bit more variety in the fights than some action comics.
Dean’s pretty good at drawing the metal spiders when he doesn’t make them just scribbles.
I’m starting to draw a bit myself lately, so maybe I’ll draw my own comic once Psycho Games is over. . . but that’s pretty far in the future. It looks like this will end up longer than 300 pages, at the least. It’s almost to the 100 page mark, and we’re less than a third of the way through. Maybe even less than a quarter. I don’t plan for it to be a 70-volume epic, but this may be longer than Pumpkin Man, at least. I’d rather not work on it for more than 2 or 3 years, though. I have a lot of ideas I’d like to use for other comics. Life is short.
