Coloring on the computer has been both a new and old experience. Hope it looks nice.

Hey, it’s been a little bit. We cetainly haven’t forgotten about Hoko Poko, though!
There have been a lot of new characters lately. The new trio is a lot of fun to draw.
You can check out the story, from the beginning, here.
We’re definitely gonna add a lot of the Psycho Games characters to our fighting game sometime. You downloaded it, right? Tell us what you think!
If you didn’t though, there’s a simple way to fix it.

It doesn’t take work to be unhappy, rather, it’s the easiest thing to do. To be happy, that takes effort. A person must decide to get out of bed and do something, and to be grateful and positive. To be unhappy, all a person needs to do is nothing. You can’t just sit and wait for your life to turn into some fairytale fantasyland. That’s not real life.

It’s easy to be unhappy when nothing bad at all is happening, so it’d be even easier to be unhappy when one’s life is threatened daily, like in the Psycho Games. Victor, Zed, and Clara also need to work to be happy. In fact, they have to work really, really hard. As bad as things are for them, I hope they succeed.

Hey! Hope you’re having a happy Valentines Day over there.

Drawing manly men is quite a bit different than drawing cute kids. I enjoy both, though.

Drawing that kitchen scene really brought me back to when I was drawing Pumpkin Man.

Anyways, sorry to complain, but I’ve got a bone to pick with someone. Zed stole my mechanical pencil! How am I gonna draw cartoons without it? Look, he’s just using it to write his memoirs. What a self-obsessed turd. Who’d want to read that anyways?

We’re gonna have to go on a short hiatus, while I look for another pencil.

Anyways, have a wonderful day. I love you.

The earth is spinning, and I am tired. The Dead Awake was only supposed to be two parts, and was meant to be mostly odds and ends of story bits, but it looks like we got 3 parts worth of odds and ends. These odds and ends are meant to set up into something later.

There was a small book sale at college, and it was very hard to find a book there that wasn’t a murder mystery or a thriller. There’s too many of those kind of books. Hopefully, Psycho Games is bringing something slightly fresh and new to the table of comics, and fiction in general.

Psycho Games, Chapter 12: The Dead Awaken, part 2

Wow. What an eventful chapter. We were really unsure how it would turn out, but I think Jim did it very well.
I hope you like the cover. It’s my favorite so far. I hope you’ve noticed, but I always try to put a lot of symbolism in each cover. I think this one probably has the most so far. Not only does it hint at the contents of this chapter, but it also has a lot to do with stuff you won’t understand until later. It’s got some interesting foreshadowing.

* Evilly *: What a quaint Chapter. Dean was really creative with that cover; it’s probably the best one yet. Psycho Games is all about two things: Talking heads scenes and fight scenes. I can’t say this is the best talking heads scene (there’s quite a bit of competition for that title) but it does develop Victor (who has been lacking in development lately) and hints towards the future. I think I can say with confidence that this Chapter’s fight scene is most likely the best one so far. (Dean said it was the one that actually felt like a real one.) Fight scenes are hard to write, but this one has more emotional depth and conflict that others were lacking. I also feel it’s paced better, and feels really fast and powerful, largely due to the dynamic art. And of course, we finally get to see the mayor again. That’s pretty cool, I think.

Psycho Games Chapter 11: The Dead Awaken, part 1

Dialogue, lots of dialogue. It was painful to type a lot of it into the word bubbles. 10 pages seems like a lot when writing, especially when I take so long second-guessing things, but for the reader, it really isn’t all that much. I’ve been very busy with college, and haven’t had much time to write script, so I’ve just been squeaking by. Surprisingly, the hardest class isn’t chemistry, rather, it’s my fitness class. I can barely even survive jogging on a treadmill for 20 minutes, and I need to do that every day to pass. . . I’m going to be exhausted by the end of this quarter.

Hey. It’s good to see you. It’s been a little while. I wish we could talk longer, but I have to go to sleep.

Note: It’s “The Dead Sleep Better,” not “The Sleep Dead Better.” Dean always goes overboard when I create throwaway characters, I think he makes them more interesting visually than the main characters!
SPOILER: In fact, this even influenced me to spare one of their lives (I planned to kill both of them.)
This episode was decidedly darker and grittier than previous chapters. The fact that it’s at night only emphasizes this fact. These chapters always seem to read MUCH faster than I imagined when writing them, so it might be a little confusing at first. Next chapter is going to be sloooooooow. . .
Also: I’ve been reading the European comic Corto Maltese lately. It’s a fantastic read, and is carried almost entirely by the dialogue (and it has absolutely cardboard action scenes). It really makes me want to improve my dialogue further. Half of my sentences seem to start with “Well.” Well, I’m gonna try an’ improve that.

Happy new year! Hope you all had a merry Christmas! I got a Lego set . . .
Despite the holiday chaos, we’re keeping up, at one chapter every fortnight. I’ve always tried to speed things up, but it’s hard when I’ve also got a real job . . .
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this darker and grittier chapter. I sure went to town with my black crayon and sharpie. Hope it’s good enough for you.

Psycho Games Chapter 9: The Dead Sleep Better, part 1

Hey! Good to see you! Here, we’ve got the next chapter of Psycho Games. Hope you find it exciting.

For this chapter, I decided to create an alternate cover, just for fun. I colored it with crayons, as you can probably tell. Whaddya think?

This fight is being set up more like it’s part of a horror story. So far, each of the fights has been structured very differently. I like to think Psycho Games offers a bit more variety in the fights than some action comics.
Dean’s pretty good at drawing the metal spiders when he doesn’t make them just scribbles.
I’m starting to draw a bit myself lately, so maybe I’ll draw my own comic once Psycho Games is over. . . but that’s pretty far in the future. It looks like this will end up longer than 300 pages, at the least. It’s almost to the 100 page mark, and we’re less than a third of the way through. Maybe even less than a quarter. I don’t plan for it to be a 70-volume epic, but this may be longer than Pumpkin Man, at least. I’d rather not work on it for more than 2 or 3 years, though. I have a lot of ideas I’d like to use for other comics. Life is short.
